A new development is coming to Vestavia Hills/Cahaba Heights. Parkside at Dolly Ridge, a mixed-use office/retail development, located on Dolly Ridge Road adjacent to Cahaba Heights Elementary School, just a few blocks east of Hwy 280, is slated for delivery fourth quarter 2020. New Horizon Development is developing the project and Harbert Retail’s Casey Howard and Charlie Norton are handling leasing for the property.
The development will include up to 6,835sf of community retail and up to 6,668sf of professional office space for lease with ample surface parking. Parkside will have connectivity to the new City of Vestavia Hills master planned community and athletic field complex. The new complex will include multiple ballfields, a picnic area, dog park, and community center with meeting rooms. Vestavia plans to have the new complex completed by Summer 2020.
Thomas Hickman, President with New Horizon Development, stated “as a Vestavia Hills resident and long-time developer, I’m proud to be bringing a high-quality, much needed retail/office development in the heart of the Cahaba Heights community. Parkside at Dolly Ridge will have great walkable connectivity to City of Vestavia’s new ballfields, dog park, community center and more right next to the project. My team and I are vested in making sure that every detail is done right on this development and are very excited about the project and the amazing response we’ve received already.” Casey Howard, Vice President/Broker with Harbert Retail, said “our team is honored to partner with New Horizon on leasing efforts for this new development as we know there is a big need for retail and office space in this Cahaba Heights market that provides great customer/employee experience, ample parking, ease of access, and walkability to amenities like the new ballfields and parks currently under construction next door. We’re ecstatic about the project and progress already being made.”
The Cahaba Heights/Vestavia Hills area continues to grow as it benefits from a strong school system, influx of new residents moving to the area, and numerous new businesses/companies moving in to the market like Martin’s BBQ, ‘Lette Macarons, the relocation of Encompass Health (formerly HealthSouth) and Southern Company headquarters, and the addition of commercial developments like Parkside at Dolly Ridge, are all signs that Cahaba Heights continues to grow and become more and more attractive to residents and businesses alike.
