Thomas (Thom) Hickman joins Harbert Retail as Vice President of Development/Brokerage. In Thom’s 35- year career, he has been involved in over 25 million square feet of retail and commercial development across the United States. Thom’s experience includes site selection, anchor tenant and big-box leasing and development of regional shopping centers, power centers, community centers, professional office buildings and single tenant developments for national retailers such as McDonald’s and Starbucks.
“We’re thrilled to have Thom join our Harbert Retail team as he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge from his years of involvement in millions of square feet of retail development, leasing and investment work around the country,” stated Casey Howard, Harbert Retail Vice President. “He knows the CRE world inside and out and we’re excited about the value he continues to add with every client relationship he has and every real estate deal he’s involved in.”
Hickman will be focusing on retail and commercial development and brokerage opportunities with Harbert Retail in Alabama. “I am very excited to join the Harbert Retail team,” said Hickman. “Harbert Realty is a well-known and respected CRE firm though out Alabama and the Southeast. The Harbert Retail team has created a great platform for all aspects of leasing, management, brokerage and development in retail CRE arena and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”
Hickman attended the University of Windsor, Windsor, Ontario. He has been a member of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) for 35 years.
